TROC – EAST VIEW

2019 – The architect responsible for designing this “Greek” village, or the Troc as it is known, was Pedro Soler. His son – also Pedro Soler – is a flamenco guitarist now in his 70s or 80s.
It’s an amazing place, but by doing this painting I began to appreciate his genius. It became an exercise in technical drawing. The angles he used, for example the pitch of the roof – are echoed and mirrored to the point where it fits like a jigsaw. The land is on an elevation and he knew exactly what he was doing. He planned it so every villa here has an incredible, unique sea view.
